O Programa Memória do Mundo foi criado pela Unesco em 1992, com o objetivo de preservar arquivos e documentos de grande valor histórico, através de uma listagem internacional – à semelhança de um tombamento.

Em 2007, o Arquivo Público do Distrito Federal (ArPDF) – Fundo Novacap – foi reconhecido dentro do registro nacional do Programa. Em 2008, o arquivo candidatou-se ao registro internacional. A proposta está sendo avaliada pelo comitê regional da Unesco.

O núcleo docomomo brasília oficialmente apóia a candidatura do ArPDF. Mande você também sua manifestação de apoio.

Public Archive of the Federal District applies for
registration on the Memory of the World Programme

UNESCO’s Memory of the World Programme, created in 1992, aims at preservation and dissemination of valuable archive holdings and library collections worldwide, through registering them.

In 2007, Public Archive of the Federal District (ArPDF) – Novacap Fund – was nationally registered by the Programme. In 2008, the Archive applied for international registration. The nomination is currently under evaluation by international UNESCO comitee.
